Visit a Branch or Send by Courier
Walk in at Alberton (Mon to Fri 8:30am to 5pm, Sat 9am to 1pm) or Springs (Mon to Sat 9am to 5pm), book an appointment at Sandton or Cape Town, or send your items by insured courier.
Accept the Offer and Get Paid
After testing and weighing in front of you, we confirm our final offer. Accept it and you are paid by EFT or cash before you leave, or decline and keep your items.
What Happens When You Sell to Zeek Gold
1. Testing in front of you
We first look for hallmarks such as 375 (9ct), 585 (14ct), 750 (18ct) or 916 (22ct). Every item is then tested with an XRF analyser, which reads the metal content without scratching, filing or using acid on your jewellery. Diamonds and watches are assessed by our in-house specialists.
2. Weighing on calibrated scales
Each item is weighed on a calibrated digital scale where you can see the reading. Stones, springs and other non-gold parts are taken into account, so the offer reflects the gold content.
3. A clear, itemised offer
Your offer is based on the tested purity, the weight and the day's gold price. You can compare it with the market using our live gold price per gram page. We do not deduct any commission or evaluation fees, and you are under no obligation to sell.
4. Payment
In branch, once you accept the offer you are paid before you leave, by EFT or cash. With our courier service, your parcel is opened on video and evaluated on the day it arrives, and we pay by EFT within an hour of the evaluation once you accept.
What to Bring
- A valid South African ID or passport
- A proof of address
- Any certificates, boxes or papers for diamonds and watches, since these can increase your offer
The Second-Hand Goods Act requires us to record your identity and address for every purchase. Zeek Gold is a registered second-hand goods dealer (SAPS registration 25/13/2/09/2022).

DO NOT GO TO THIS JEWELLER. THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF AND, IN OUR EXPERIENCE, THEY ARE EXTREMELY DISHONEST.
We went to the Zeek Gold Sea Point branch to have our gold jewellery evaluated. Before going in, we weighed the jewellery at home on two separate scales, both of which measured approximately 23g.
When we arrived, their scale supposedly measured only 10g. Given that two separate scales at home had independently measured 23g, we found this extremely suspicious and strongly believe their scale was being manipulated or rigged.
What made the experience even more shocking was the complete lack of professionalism. They didn’t even have a magnifying glass to properly inspect the quality of the gold. The gentleman assisting us had us sitting quietly in a room with him, communicating with his boss over WhatsApp chat and sending pictures of our jewellery while ‘evaluating’ it. There was virtually no transparency about how they were assessing the jewellery or arriving at their valuation.
They initially offered us R7500 for what we had independently measured as 23g of gold. Absolutely outrageous.
We then asked whether they would offer R10 000, purely to test them. They refused. However, the SECOND we said we were leaving, they suddenly agreed to R10 000. That alone raised even more questions for us about their valuation process.
Obviously, we did NOT accept.
We immediately went to our local jeweller for a second opinion. They weighed the exact same jewellery and measured an accurate 23g, consistent with both of our scales at home. They then offered us THREE TIMES MORE than Zeek’s initial offer.
The whole experience was incredibly concerning. From the huge discrepancy in the weight, to the lack of proper equipment to assess the gold, to the sudden change in their offer once we were walking away, we felt that they were trying to take advantage of customers who may not know the true weight or value of their jewellery.
DO YOUR RESEARCH. WEIGH YOUR GOLD BEFORE YOU GO. GET MULTIPLE VALUATIONS. AND DO NOT JUST ACCEPT THE FIRST OFFER.
We are absolutely shocked by this experience and would not recommend Zeek Gold to anyone

I went to zeek gold on a Sunday had an emergency and was paid well for my jewelry which was silver , moved different places where they were offering 20 to 25 rands a gram, zeek paid me 30 a gram for silver . I highly recommend them for selling g silver gold and watches like Rolex and Cartier....

I went to the Springs branch of Zeek's gold today and I was very disappointed. I wanted to sell a 1969 80% Silver R1 coin. On their website they advertise R10.40 per gram for 80% silver. The coin weighs 15 grams which means I should have been offered something in the range of R150 odd rand. I was offered R80 by a very rude employee. I have attached screenshots from their webpage and a screenshot confirming the weight of the coin. All I can say is I was almost cheated by their false advertising. Before selling anything here please double check not only the weight but also the price "promised" online. Wont ever be going back.
